Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.

Finally at the end of a tedious January I am jetting off to my annual family vacation to the Far East. Bring on the sunshine!
Having lived in big-knit jumpers, jeans, heeled boots and faux fur jackets for the past few months, it seems rather odd – but exciting – to bring out all my summer clothes that I stored neatly away in preparation for the chilling winter months. Nevertheless, I’m not complaining! I plan to make my winter sun escape in style, and you can find out exactly how below!
As well as dragging out my summer clothes from beneath the bed, with my holiday only a mere few days away, it got me thinking about my in-flight essentials. We all know only too well how remarkably cold planes can be, and whilst this is to reduce the chances of a passenger fainting or becoming subject to hypoxia, it can become very uncomfortable for those of us who love being warm and snug. Due to this, my first in-flight essential is my Madeleine Thompson Cashmere Poncho. As well as feeling incredibly luxurious against the skin and keeps you feeling cosy, this poncho is light enough to throw into your on-board bag when you arrive at your destination. What I love about this poncho the most, however, is that even though it is easy to throw on over any outfit, it is super flattering and elegant, and creates the perfect ‘put together’ look!
Regardless of the duration of your flight, as well as keeping warm it’s important that we look after our skin. Travelling by plane can leave your skin feeling tight and dehydrated which is why my first step towards keeping my skin looking fresh is to use the Nuface Prep-N-Glow Cleansing Cloths. By using these cleansing cloths, you don’t need to worry about carrying heavy liquids that will simply weigh you down. They will leave your skin feeling just as clean and hydrated, and you will look positively brighter after having scrambled out of your bed earlier that day in order to arrive at the airport on time!
Once I have finished cleansing my skin, I like to put on the Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask by Charlotte Tilbury. Easy to use and incredibly hydrating, this nifty product will leave you with a flawless tan, enabling you to embrace that pre-holiday glow before you touch down. Once the Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask has settled on my skin, in order to ensure I have a well-deserved rest, I use the This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray. This product is extremely useful is you struggle to fall asleep when travelling, or in general at home. From time to time I will also use my Silk Slip Eye Mask, however, when travelling with my football team, I think its best I sleep with one eye open!
Prior to landing I will pull out another cleansing cloth and give my face one final spritz of the IS Clinical Copper Firming Mist before slapping on some heavy-duty moisturiser and applying the superb HelioCare Cream Colour SPF 50 to protect my delicate skin from the intense heat.
One of my most favoured aspects about going abroad is buying new beach wear. With so many fun, decorative and daring styles available to choose from, I feel as though you can really show off your personality with your beach wear of choice! One of my favourite swimwear designers is Paula Hermanny’s label ViX. I simply love the rich colours, polished detailing and adjustable knotted straps. Moreover, the removal pads make all these exclusive pieces highly appealing and very flattering – you simply can’t go wrong!
As well as this swimwear collection, at the moment I particularly love Rae Feather’s collection of straw bags and hats. The collection features a range of exclusive pieces that can be accessorised with swimwear containing a pop of colour, such as fuchsia pink, fiery orange or cool blue. If you prefer wearing subtle swimwear by the beach, the Pom Pom Bardot Basket is a great way to compliment a plain swimming costume and you’re bound to get plenty of compliments! Complete with your favourite pair of designer sunglasses and casual flip-flops, you can create the perfect holiday look in a matter of minutes.
And there you have it! My winter sun getaway preparation. Do you have any holidays planned as of yet? I’d love to hear about them!
